Jim Hulbert grew up in Winter Park, Florida. His great grandfather first taught him to turn wood on the lathe in Yuma, Colorado when Jim was 15, during a summer vacation. 20 years later Jim has finally gotten back into the art of turning wood. He now lives in Monument, Colorado and works in the technical field as a Software Engineer for Oracle Corporation. He turns in his spare time and mostly uses wood that he has gathered from dead trees that he has cut down around his neighborhood.
